Sandy Deane

Sandy Deane joined Emerald in September 2021 as SVP of Content and Product Strategy, leading the company’s development and implementation of innovative content strategies that deliver commercial results across each of Emerald’s portfolios. As a seasoned communications professional, she has more than 20 years’ experience leading multi-media content, programming, and digital product strategies at major commercial media brands.  

Prior to joining Emerald, Sandy was SVP of SYFY WIRE, where she evolved from a genre news website into a multi-platform content production studio creating original linear TV shows, YouTube series, shoppable interactive video and podcasts. She spent eight years at Nickelodeon leading NickJr.’s interactive content and programming strategy across digital and streaming platforms. Sandy was also at AOL for 11 years, with roles at Netscape and Moviefone before ending her tenure there as Editor-in-Chief of AOL Television. 

Sandy has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from New York University. She was awarded AOL’s inaugural “Beat the Internet” Award for Excellence in 2009 and crafted groundbreaking live-action interactive episodes of Blue’s Clues and You, leading to a 2020 Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Interactive Media.  

Sandy is a native Jersey girl, where she resides today with her three sons and two dogs.
