Yma Sherry

Yma Sherry joined Emerald in November 2021 as Vice President, Brand Relaunch for Emerald’s Xcelerator Group. In this role, she is responsible for taking current Emerald assets and improving their overall performance. Her initial focus is on The Collective Shows and SURTEX. 

Yma has more than 25 years of experience in the business travel sector. Prior to joining Emerald, she spent 16 years at American Express where she held senior positions including VP/General Manager, VP of Operations and VP of Account Management. In her most recent position at Amex Global Business Travel, she was responsible for leading the Meetings and Events Division for the Americas. 

Yma has received industry recognition, being named in the 2016 Top 25 Women in the Meetings Industry by Corporate Meetings & Conventions Magazine and one of the 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry in 2018 by Northstar Meetings Group. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Rosemont College in Philadelphia, Yma was awarded a Certificate in Change Management in 2020 from Cornell University. 

Yma is passionate about relationships and shared experiences with her family, her friends and her work colleagues. She lives with her partner, Richard, in a log cabin in the Catskills, upstate New York. Yma has two daughters who live and work in Philadelphia. She loves animals and enjoys hiking with her two-year-old Pudelpointer dog, Drake. Her interests include international travel, reading, live music, wine and dark chocolate.
