At Emerald, we are committed to creating events that are welcoming, respectful, and productive for everyone, whether you are attending, exhibiting, speaking, sponsoring, partnering or working at the event.
This Code of Conduct explains the standards we expect at all Emerald events.
While violations are extremely rare, we want to be clear: anyone who does not follow these expectations will be asked to stop and, if necessary, may be removed from the event.
Safety Is Our Priority
Your safety—and the safety of others—is our top priority.
- Do not behave in a manner that puts your or other event participants’ safety or security at risk.
- Follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures.
- If you are feeling unwell or have a fever, please do not attend. Contact the events team to discover alternative ways to participate
- Do not obstruct exits, misuse or move any equipment or engage in risky behavior.
- Report any suspicious activity, security issues or hazards immediately to the event team.
- Anyone found to be under the influence of any substance – whether lawful or otherwise – and who acts in a way that negatively affects the experience of others, may be removed from the event.
- Observe all event rules regarding alcohol, tobacco and vaping and only consume in designated areas in accordance with event and venue policy. Do not operate or demonstrate equipment under the influence of any substance.
Engagement At Our Events
Emerald events are shared spaces built on mutual respect.
- Do not disrupt sessions or interfere with others’ ability to participate – verbally, physically or via digital platforms.
- Please do not heckle, catcall or interrupt others in a disruptive or disrespectful manner, whether verbally or with other behavior.
- You may not harvest, collect or attempt to collect the personal information or contact information of other participants at the event without their explicit consent.

- Offensive language, gestures, imagery, and materials – including sexual content or hate symbols or speech – are not allowed.
- Do not display or distribute inappropriate or offensive materials, or use content that is intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning. This includes the use of sexual imagery or nudity.
- Sexual harassment, including inappropriate unwelcome sexual attention, unwanted physical contact and verbal comments, either in person or online, is prohibited.
- Stalking, unauthorized photography or recording, and any other intrusive behaviors are prohibited.

- You may not assemble for the purpose of committing an offense or disturbing the peace of others attending the event.
- Please avoid clothing or dress that is designed to offend other participants or the local culture, including slogans, hate symbols, or imagery.
- Online behavior matters: do not post defamatory, misleading, or harassing content about others or the event on our digital platforms or other digital spaces.
Make Our Communities Sustainable
Sustainability elements are an important part of the event’s experience. At live events, please ensure you:
- Consider any guidance on sustainable travel or use of reusable drinking or food equipment.
- Make use of any available recycling and sustainable waste disposal points.
How Can I Report Any Concerns?
If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct or have any other concerns, please report it to the event team immediately. They are trained in how best to respond to any concerns.

This Code of Conduct applies to all Emerald events – both live, digital and hybrid – including related auxiliary or special events, websites, social media and platforms. It covers all participants including attendees, sponsors, partners, speakers, media, exhibitors, contractors, vendors, and volunteers.
Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior must comply immediately. Violations may result in:
- Removal from the event without warning or refund
- Disqualification from future participation (as attendee, speaker, sponsor or exhibitor)
- Disqualification from engaging on Emerald’s platforms and channels
- Reporting to local or national authorities, where necessary
- Any additional action permitted under the event terms and conditions
Emerald reserves the right to determine compliance and take appropriate action. This Code of Conduct may be updated at any time and is non-negotiable. The safety and good experience of those attending our events is crucial to us.
